Summertime

Lazy days

Suns rays

Heat neat

Rain pain

Hours pass

Days last

The Deepest Wide

The deepest wide I ever saw

was seen from in a jonboat off the shore

The color of deep was frothy blue

iced with crusts of foam

pirouetting in the sunlight

It’s fingers waved at me as I rode by

It was as if I were in the midst of a sea of grass

being tickled by a precocious child

giggling, waving, dancing

Happy 30th Babe

For 30 years you’ve been my mate

With love & caring-without hate

We’ve fought the battles

won some wars

Gone further than we’d dreamed before

Our future is an unknown land

That we will walk through

hand in hand

And by Gods grace

And with His love

I’ll walk with you in heaven above
